BEST FILM Award - KITS
This year I took part in an amazing program that teaches foster care teens the art of filmmaking. Director Robert Munic asked me to shoot and edit the film that was written by a group of kids at Hillsides in Pasadena. Shot in a single day, we tackled the emotional story of a boy tormented by the death of his sister. Their efforts paid off and I felt a tremendous amount of pride at the Kids in the Spotlight Movies By Kids screening awards event as they took home the Best Film award. It is inspiring to see these kids tackle their tough life experiences on film because it takes a lot of courage and effort to put yourself out there for all to see. I hope to take part in the program again next year and help another group of kids realize their potential.
